We have tried our best to compile a list below of the frequently asked questions that we come across when registrations for the competition open and/or in the lead up to the Regional Final.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the team have to have 3 competitors or can it be 2?
You need 3 competitors per team, there are no exceptions.

If registration is individual, how will you match my child with their team mates?
The form requires all team members on the one form. You will need to know who your team mates are before signing up.

How do I know which Regional Final my child is eligable for?

Can my child compete in a Regional Final that isn't in our area?
If there is need to compete out of region, an application must be put forward to the Events team for deliberation, and may be accepted in serious cases. 

We are entering teams through our school. Is there a maximum number of teams we can enter?
Each school is entitled to enter up to eight teams into the Regional Competition.  However, at the Events Team sole discretion, schools may be invited to enter additional teams into the Regional Competition in the event there is capacity to do so two weeks out from competition.  

How many modules are there?
There are 8 modules, which test a wide range of agriculture knowledge from theory to hands on skills which parallel activities on-farm and are age and skill appropriate. These modules last for 6 minutes each.

Will we get any hints as to what is involved prior to the day?
Absolutely, this will be emailed out the Monday prior to the competition. So make sure you are on the lookout for this email, make sure to check spam accounts if you have not received it.

When will we hear what time we have to be there?
This will also be emailed out with the hints the Monday prior to the competition. This email will also include the days’ timetable. So make sure you are on the lookout for this email, make sure to check spam accounts if you have not received it.

Can we please be in a later preliminary round as we have to drive a wee way to get the regional final?
What we do here is, we google maps all schools distance and the time it will take to get to the regional’s location. We put the closest schools to the venue in the first rounds and the further away schools in the later rounds.

Can we change our team name once we have registered?
Unfortunately not. So please make sure you have you are happy with your team name before you submit it.

When do we find out the results of our placing?
These will be placed on the website the week after the event in the results section.

We placed in our regional final (1st, 2nd or 3rd), when do we expect to receive information about Grand Final?
You will get an email the following week of the competition to congratulate you on your efforts and that we will be in touch regarding Grand Final information once all the Regionals have finished.
